About Overbrook

Often referred to as the keystone of West Philadelphia and the “gateway between Philadelphia and the Main Line”, Overbrook is a place that many Philadelphians have called home for more than 50 years. Overbrook is also home to the historic Tustin Playground and Overbrook High School, known for famous alumni like sports legends Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant, the first Black NASA astronaut Dr. Guion Stewart Bluford Jr and Will Smith, who sang about Tustin Playground in the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song. Overbrook West Neighbors Community Development Corporation (OWN), was founded to serve Overbrook’s neighbors, support community and economic development, enhance commerce on the Upper Lancaster Avenue Corridor and improve quality of life for community residents. Our partners, OWN and Representative Cephas, helped make this Night Market possible!

We were also excited to work with two community health partners, Lankenau Medical Center and Together for West Philadelphia on this Night Market.  

Lankenau Medical Center is an acute care hospital and medical complex located just outside the western city limits of Philadelphia on a 93-acre campus in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Part of Main Line Health, Lankenau Medical Center has been devoted to the health and well-being of the community since 1860, with a founding mission to serve all those in need. Its continued dedication to service, compassionate patient care, and superior clinical programs make Lankenau a preferred destination for care by people throughout and far beyond the Philadelphia region.

Together for West Philadelphia is an “organization of organizations" working to facilitate collaboration within West Philadelphia among community, public and private sector stakeholders.
